Marine squadrons are regularly assigned to carrier air groups.

Yes and the Marines will fly off carriers even more so in the future.

Of course this means that in the future the USMC will shift to all
non-carrier strike fighters (F-35B) so that the Navy will quit borrowing
them.  ;-)
